12-Month Restaurant Sales Calendar: What to Pitch Each Month

A month-by-month playbook for restaurant sales: which opener works in January vs. June, when to push reservations, when to talk seasonal menus.

Restaurant revenue is seasonal, but most sales teams keep recycling the same script all year. In January, the owner is thinking about leftover holiday inventory and a new menu; in June, the same owner is drowning in tourist covers and short-staffed shifts. A 12-month sector calendar tells you which sentence opens each conversation and which feature to lead with.

January–March: Re-Open and Refresh

January owners are nursing a post-holiday hangover and planning a new menu. Open with: "Want your new menu live on QR by February?" February is Valentine's Day — push reservation modules and prix-fixe menu builders. March (in 2026) overlaps with Ramadan (Feb 16–Mar 17 in Turkey, similar dates regionally); pitch iftar menus, multilingual support, and takeaway flows.

Price objections peak in Q1 — counter with a free starter plan plus one-time QR design. The goal: install the infrastructure before May–June peak, so they're not learning new tools during a rush.

April–July: Build Toward Peak

April reopens terraces and gardens. May is prep month: staff training, table layouts, waiter-call testing. June–July is the tourism peak — coastal restaurants in Antalya, Bodrum, the Costa del Sol need multilingual menus (German, Russian, English). Lead with thMenu's 20-language native menu and live order modules in this window.

  • April: "Is your garden's new QR ready for opening day?"
  • May: "Let's test waiter-call and bill-request before the rush."
  • June–July: "Want to add German and Russian to your menu?"

August–December: Pause, Then Rocket

August is the industry's quiet month — vacations, short staff, less foot traffic. Don't push new sales; instead, harvest feedback and case studies from existing customers. September is back-to-school: catering, lunch menus, group-order modules. October pushes harvest menus, November transitions to winter, and December is gala-menu and reservation chaos.

By late December the owner is exhausted but needs to prep January. Open with: "What three new dishes go on the January menu? Let's get them on QR by Dec 30 so January 1 is live."

FAQ

Does this calendar apply outside Turkey? The structure holds (Q1 prep, Q2/Q3 peak, Q4 holidays) but specific holidays and seasons shift — Spain has December lemon harvest, Italy has October truffle season. Localize the calendar per market.

Is Ramadan on the same dates each year? No — the lunar calendar shifts 11 days earlier annually. 2026: Feb 16–Mar 17. 2027: Feb 5–Mar 6. 2028: Jan 26–Feb 24. Update your CRM yearly.

Which month converts highest? Typically April and September — pre-season and back-to-school. Owners are actively shopping for new tools and have budget for infrastructure projects.
