Generating Monthly Affiliate Analytics Reports with Gemini

A Mersin-based creator runs Google Sheets + Gemini on the 1st of each month and gets affiliate analytics in 12 seconds. The saved hours go straight back into content production.

Picture a TikTok creator in Mersin who promotes QR-menu deals. On the 1st of every month she exports her affiliate CSV, pastes it into Google Sheets, and asks the Gemini side-panel: "Which content format converted best this month?" Twelve seconds later, the report is ready. What used to be a three-hour spreadsheet ritual is now a coffee break. This guide builds that workflow end-to-end.

Set Up the Sheet

Start by exporting CSV from your affiliate dashboard: date, coupon code, content type (reel/story/post/video), country, plan type (monthly/yearly), commission amount. Open a fresh Google Sheets file and paste the columns exactly as exported. The content type column is the keystone — Gemini will group everything by it.

Next, enable Gemini for Workspace from the Extensions menu. The free tier handles 1-2 reports a month; for serious use upgrade to Workspace Business so Gemini sits in every tab waiting for prompts.

Write Prompts That Work

Gemini answers best when the entire sheet is selected before you prompt. Try these three in sequence:

  • "Which content type drove the most commissions this month? Top 3 with average payout."
  • "Which country sent clicks that converted to yearly plans the most? Give percentages."
  • "Which metric grew 20%+ month-over-month? List only those rows."

The magic is specificity: vague prompts like "summarise this" produce vague reports. Name the column, name the comparison, name the threshold.

Data-Driven Content Strategy

Once the report lands, strategy writes itself. Say Gemini answers: "Reels from Turkey converted at 42% — highest in the dataset." That fixes your June calendar: 8 reels, 2 stories, 0 static posts. Decisions on data, not vibes.

Bonus: add a "Notes" column to the same sheet. Paste a Gemini summary into it each month. After six months you can ask Gemini to "summarise the Notes column" and get a half-year trend without rebuilding anything. Past reports become reusable knowledge.

FAQ

Is Gemini free? Workspace Personal has limited usage; Business ($14/month) gives 1000+ prompts — more than enough for affiliate reporting.

What about data privacy? On Workspace Business your data is not used to train models, making it safe for commercial revenue data.

Any alternatives? ChatGPT's Sheets connector, Claude with file uploads, or open-source Looker Studio. Workflow is similar — only prompt syntax differs.
