How it works

How Thmenu works

A restaurant builds its menu and profile once and switches on what it needs — ordering, reservations, feedback, loyalty. Guests open the menu on their own phone, from a table code or a link, in their own language. At the table, every phone joins the same table session, orders its own items and can pay its own share.

For the restaurant

From an empty account to a working service, in the order most restaurants do it.

  1. 01

    Create an account

Sign up with an email address and name your restaurant. No card is asked for.

  2. 02

    Build or import the menu

Import the menu you already have from a PDF, a Word document, a CSV file or a photo, then check and correct it — or enter it by hand.

  3. 03

    Complete the restaurant profile

Add opening hours, the address, photos and a short description. They appear on your About page and in the restaurant's structured data.

  4. 04

    Publish

The menu is live at its own address on menu.thmenu.com. Listing the restaurant in the Thmenu directory is a separate choice you can switch on.

  5. 05

    Switch on what you need

In Settings, the Feature Settings card has switches for orders, reservations, feedback and loyalty. All four start off for a new restaurant, so nothing reaches guests before you are ready.

  6. 06

    Print the table codes

Add your tables and download a print-ready file with one QR code per table.

  7. 07

    Run service

Orders arrive on the kitchen screen with the table, reservation requests arrive in the dashboard for you to confirm, and card payments go to your own connected Stripe account where online payment is available.

  8. 08

See what works and bring guests back

Analytics show orders and best sellers; loyalty points, announcements and campaigns reach the guests who come back.

For the guest

Everything happens in the phone's browser. There is no app to install and no account to create.

  1. 01

    Find the restaurant

Scan the code on the table, open the restaurant's link, or find a listed restaurant in the Thmenu directory.

  2. 02

    Read the menu

The menu opens in the language of the phone — 31 languages are available — and dishes can be filtered by allergen and diet.

  3. 03

    Order or reserve

Where the restaurant has switched them on, guests order from the table or for pickup, or send a reservation request.

  4. 04

    Pay

By card on the phone where online payment is available, or with staff as usual.

  5. 05

    Get a confirmation

After paying, the guest sees the order number and can follow the order's status.

  6. 06

    Earn rewards

If the restaurant runs loyalty, points are added when the guest orders through the menu.

  7. 07

    Follow

A guest can follow the restaurant without an account and see its announcements, campaigns and new dishes.

  8. 08

    Come back

My Thmenu keeps followed restaurants and favourite orders on the guest's own device.

At the table

What happens when a group orders from their phones.

  1. 01

    Scan

Each table has its own code, so the menu knows which table it is serving.

  2. 02

    Join the table

Every phone that scans the code joins the same table session.

  3. 03

    Choose and order

Each guest picks their own dishes and sends the order. By default a member of staff accepts it before the kitchen starts.

  4. 04

    Pay your share

Pay the whole bill, only what your phone ordered, an equal share, a percentage or a set amount.

  5. 05

    Keep dining

Order another round in the same session; where the restaurant allows it, call a waiter or ask for the bill from the menu.
